I wish to speak to the superiors of this organized defense force I remember hearing whispered about. I have a task for you! Please! My best friend is missing! Even though he said he was going on vacation, that's been awhile now and he isn't the sort to remain out of contact for so long!

Mine? Uh... I think, that might be a bit much to say.

We live on, a different planet? And, most of the adults are, or were, out conquering things. Because, that's what adult trolls do, though I don't think, that's anything I'd particularly enjoy doing... Anyway we are, were, watched over by our, lususes. You humans have parents? I think.

My mother was not my father's wife. There's a term for that, but which most people find so offensive to think about that they use it when they want to insult others.

But I love my mother. She's the one who raised me until I was a young man. After that I went to live with my father, because it meant I could provide for my mother. That's the best thing I could have done and ever will do, so long as I live.

I guess they are a little complicated, but I wouldn't say they're bad either. What are your families like, Tavros-kun?

Uh... We don't exactly have them. We all just, come from the mother grub and are, raised by our lusus.

So I guess... everyone is related, technically? But we don't have, brothers and sisters. It's, kind of a weird concept to me.

That's something we have in common, then - I don't have a brother or sister either. My friends are my family. I take it your guardian - your lusus - isn't someone you consider family? Surely you have someone you think of as... a kin, or even just a kindred spirit?

I guess, I considered my lusus like family. If, I'd known what family was at the time.
